Do not take personally the negative factors that you might encounter with on a daily basis. It is easier to say than to do, of course. However, there are plenty of negative things you experience yet cannot do anything to change them.
Fortunately, you can always change your own attitude toward all those aspects in order to improve the situation. The more stressed you are, the shorter you live! Learn to ignore or at least pit up with the stuff that drives you crazy from time to time. Control your emotions and the quality of your life will instantly improve.
1. Negative online comments
Trying to convince people that they are wrong is like fighting with windmills. It’s a totally hopeless mission. Do not even try to waste your energy and time trying to change someone’s opinion. You are no guru and you cannot make others think or behave the way you usually do. Accept people and let them be themselves just like they let you be yourself. Even if you are 100% right, let them learn from their own mistakes.
2. Stuck in a traffic jam
Traffic jams will always exist and will only keep becoming worse and worse unless people change the entire infrastructure, rebuild cities and roads, start using public transport instead of private vehicles or learn to fly! Sound surreal, doesn’t it? Then wouldn’t it be wiser of you to simply learn to deal with this phenomenon? Quit worrying, switch on your favorite tune or radio station, read a book or a magazine, meditate – anything might work. Always make the best of the worst situation!
3. Queuing alongside other more impatient people
How do you like it when someone is pushing in front of you in a queue? That must drive you mad! We agree that it is annoying, but the good thing is that you can control yourself. Calm down and be smarter than the person who is less polite than you. Teaching others good manners is not your mission. Bad manners are their problem. Save your energy and do not scream.
4. Someone stares at you
If someone looks at you, it does not mean that they do not like the way you look. You won’t believe it but they care more about how they look in your eyes rather than how you or anyone else looks. Do not over react if you notice that someone is observing you. Actually, you can take it as flattery. Just imagine – someone is interested in you! It is far better to be noticed than ignored. Do not take other people’s stares personally. Or, if possible, interpret them in a positive manner. If you are brave enough, smile to the person and watch their reaction. What if they smile back to you? Life is full of pleasant surprises.
5. You have been rejected
It is never pleasant to be rejected, especially when we are talking about your application for a position in a company. Be understanding and admit the fact that life consists not only of luck and success. Such moments make us stronger and form our character. Do not let depression rule your world after you were told to look for a job elsewhere. Applicants should never take all this personally. Employers do not want to hurt you. They simply have other reasons why they cannot accept you. Have your goals and do all possible to reach them. Never give up after the very first unsuccessful try. You will be accepted and you will succeed. Be patient and actively search for work no matter what.
